In this module, we will discuss the most commonly used networking hardware found in a business environment.

It is important to understand how hardware like IP Cameras or Access Control devices interact with, and communicate through, other devices like hubs, routers and switches. We will also discuss servers and other network storage devices.

When you complete this course, you should be able to do the following:

  • Compare and contrast hubs, routers and switches and understand each device's role on the network.
  • Demonstrate the various types of hardware, workstations and servers on a network.
  • Identify various storage devices and articulate their advantages and disadvantages.
  • Assess common backup strategies and their related devices.
